More About Starting Point
Your Long Hollow account is what you use to register for events, give online, and contact our staff or ministries. If you’ve signed up for an event or given online in the last year, you probably have one already. If not, just click “register” on the login screen when you watch either of the sessions above. You only need to register once, and we’ll use your account to help you keep track of your Starting Point progress.
You can keep track of your Starting Point progress and jump into your next session on-demand by logging in with your Long Hollow account here.
Whether new or a long-time attender, Starting Point is designed for anyone who wants to connect, or even reconnect with the Long Hollow family. It’s also for any adult seeking membership at Long Hollow.
Starting Point is two sessions and can be done in person, online, or a combination of both. Session 1 is offered the first and third Sunday of each month. Session 2 is offered the second and fourth Sunday of each month, even on holiday weekends. There is no Starting Point session on fifth Sundays.
During the month of December, Starting Point is offered online only.
In-person attendees gather at a table with hosts and spend a few minutes getting to know each other. A church staff member will lead the session, and you’ll view a couple of videos by Pastor Robby and others on staff. Your table hosts will guide discussions.
Along with great folks to meet and interact with during the in-person sessions, a coffee station, bottled water, and breakfast snacks are also provided.
Online sessions are a series of on-demand videos you can watch from anywhere, and you’ll receive materials in digital format.
Session 1 is “Our Mission and Getting Connected”, a brief history of the church, what we believe, and the ways you can get connected with others. Session 2 is “Your Calling and Impact”, and includes a brief spiritual gifts assessment to discover how God wants to use you in His kingdom.
That’s not a problem! Our sessions are designed to be completed in any order at any time that works for you. You can also do a mix of in person and online, whatever works best for your schedule.
Starting Point helps everyone at Long Hollow know what we believe and how we operate, creating a sense of unity in our church family. If you desire church membership, completing Starting Point is a prerequisite, no matter how long you have attended Long Hollow or how deeply you may already be connected. (Membership is required for many serving opportunities.)
While registration helps us plan, it’s not required. We’d love to have you join us!
Starting Point is geared for adults. Children through fifth grade are welcome to be part of LH Kids for two service times to allow you to attend worship and Starting Point. (Church membership is for ages 18 and up.) If you have any questions, contact Vivian Penuel at vivian.penuel@longhollow.com.
