Kids Sunday Morning Activities

<p>We want LH Kids to be a safe and fun environment for your kids to encounter Jesus on a weekly basis. With that goal in mind, all LH Kids activities involve a simple check-in process that provides a quick and secure way to drop off and pick up your kids on Sundays and Wednesdays.</p>

<p>Check-in stations are located next to each entrance for the kids area both downstairs in the main lobby and upstairs near the rear bridge entrance. Read on for more details about the two types of check-in that are available, and how you can download a digital fast pass to make things even easier.</p>

<h3>First Time Parents</h3>
<p>If you’re new to LH Kids, have a friend visiting with you, or have a more complex check-in arrangement for your kids, our assisted check-in stations are always available to get you checked in and on your way. A volunteer will guide you through the process to ensure your kids and guests are placed in the correct activities for the day.</p>

<h3>Returning Parents</h3>

<p>After you have checked in for the first time, the next time you need to check your kids in to LH Kids activities, you have two options:</p>

<h3>Self Check-In</h3>

<p>Simply approach the kiosk, scan your digital fast pass (more info below) or enter your phone number, and follow the simple instructions on the screen. It only takes a few taps to select your kids, confirm the room, and print your tags.</p>

<p>If you have a question or need assistance, volunteers are available nearby to lend a hand.</p>

<h3>Digital Fast Pass</h3>

<p>You can always use your phone number or keychain tag to check in, but we’ve also created a digital fast pass that makes checking in a breeze.</p>

<p>Your fast pass only takes seconds to download on your phone and it’s compatible with the digital wallets on both iPhone and Android devices. Any time you’re on campus, the pass can automatically display on your lock screen, making quick check in only a tap away.</p>

<p><u><b>Get your fast pass by texting CODE to 98173.</b></u> For quick access, be sure to save it to your phone's wallet (similar to where your phone stores boarding passes and movie tickets). Your pass not only works for kids check-in, but for any other activity or event at Long Hollow that requires check in.</p>

<p>We’re reserving <b><a href="https://allairextreme.com/" target="_blank">All Air Xtreme Trampoline Park</a> on Thursday, March 20 from 6 - 8PM</b> for children and students with special needs and their families! Kids, students, and families will have the opportunity to play on all available trampoline equipment and foam pits. This event is free and registration is required, but arcade games and concessions will be open for purchase. </p>

<p>This is not a drop-off event. Parents/caregivers must stay with children at all times.</p>

LH Kids Events

<p>Long Hollow offers opportunities for the entire family to engage on Wednesday nights. Find out below about our options for infants through 5th grade. </p>

<h2>Kindergarten - 4th Grade </h2>

<p>On Wednesdays this winter, LH Kids is hosting mid-week programming for children in Kindergarten - 4th grade. This experience is designed to engage kids with the Word of God and help them grow as a Spirit-led follower, intentional friend, humble guide, and force for good. </p>

<p>Drop off in the upstairs Kids Hallway begins at 6:15PM. Programming begins at 6:30PM and ends at 7:30PM, with pick up no later than 7:45PM. </p>

<h2>Special Needs </h2>
<p>Our elementary sensory room for Kindergarten - 5th grade will be open weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:15 - 7:30 PM in the upstairs Kids Hallway on the Hendersonville campus. If your child typically attends a CDC class at school, the sensory room may be a good fit for Wednesday nights. The sensory room will follow the same series as LH Kids.  </p>

<p>To help us best prepare for your child, we kindly request that you register your child for our special needs class. </p>

<h2>Childcare for Infants - Preschoolers </h2>
<p>For parents who are volunteering or meeting in an on-campus group, childcare is available for infants - preschoolers in the Preschool Hallway of the Hendersonville campus. In order for us to provide the best possible care and appropriate staffing, we kindly request that all childcare participants register for care. </p>

Expectant Parents

<p><b>Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus? Perhaps your child made the decision to follow Jesus, but hasn't been baptized yet. Then this class is for your family! </b></p>
<p>LH Kids hosts baptism classes both on Zoom and in person to best meet your family's schedule and preference. These hour-long classes are designed for children and their parents to participate in together.</p>
<p>In the class, we discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, study what the Bible says about baptism, and answer questions children may have about what to expect. Our goal is to help families prepare for baptism. This class is intentionally designed to facilitate conversation between children and parents. We also want to make sure that children fully understand their decision to get baptized.</p>

<p>At Long Hollow, we desire to be a place where families with special needs know they belong so they may experience the love of Jesus Christ. We appreciate parents giving us time to find the right volunteer for their child and filling out our intake form to help us best prepare for any needs their child may have. </p>

<h3>What Is a Buddy?</h3>
<p>Because inclusion is our overall goal with everyone, a buddy serves to help assist a student in a typical class. Children can remain with their peers unless they need a break. We want each child to have a consistent buddy or pair of buddies where relationships are fostered and trust is gained. A buddy’s role is to help facilitate meaningful connections between your child and their leader and peers, as well as helping your child grow to know and love The Lord. If this is the best option for your child, please allow us a little time to pair them with a volunteer.</p>

<h3>What Is a Sensory Room?</h3>
<p>A Sensory Rooms is a stand alone classroom that is intentionally designed for anyone who may benefit from a smaller ratio of leader to student and modified curriculum specifically designed to meet the needs of different learning styles. In any of our Sensory Rooms, you can find a multitude of fun activities that engage all the senses. We have exercise balls, trampolines, swings and lots of other things to help kids feel comfortable.</p>

We work specifically with our children with special needs to ensure that they get the most out of both large group and small group experiences.

<p>Long Hollow Weekday Preschool is a ministry of Long Hollow Church. Our commitment is to create a nurturing environment for preschoolers (3 months through pre-k) to grow <i>spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally.</i> While teaching preschoolers is our primary focus, we also desire to minister to parents and families. Each day is structured with a variety of age-appropriate activities. Children in the two’s classes and up participate in music classes weekly. Pre-k also has Spanish class and Chapel weekly.</p><br />

<p>Registration for the 2025-2026 school year will open to the public in person on March 5, 2025. </p>

Commitment is about 30-45 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. </p><p><b>Media Tech &amp; Production</b> -Work behind the scenes, operating the audio, visual, and lighting portions of large group to provide a seamless and excellent experience for preschoolers and children where God’s truth is clearly communicated. Commitment ranges from about 45-90 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.</p><p><b>Curriculum + Set-Up Team</b> - Work behind the scenes helping the LH Kids team prepare lessons, organize and cut out materials, clean and organize classrooms. This is an extremely flexible role with opportunities to help throughout the week or even from home. </p><p><b>Leader in Training</b> - Teens under the age of 16 may serve under the supervision of an adult leader in a variety of LH Kids roles ranging from assistant small group leaders to leading worship. </p><h5>Leader Positions:</h5><p><b>Hallway Coordinator</b> - Invest in 4-8 classroom leaders by offering classroom support, encouragement, and guidance during LH Kids services. Ensure that each child has an excellent experience, and that all safety policies are followed. Commitment is about 1.5 - 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules! </p><p><b>Group Leader</b> - Guide children in age and stage appropriate activities, games, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum to help them know God and find community. Flexible schedules!</p><p><b>Assistant Leader -</b> Provide assistance in an LH Kids class by helping the group leader with games, activities, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum. Commitment ranges from about 30-90 minutes on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.</p><h3>Service + Leader Requirements</h3><p>We value safety and want to provide our children with a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. To ensure a top quality experience, there are several requirements for volunteering with LH Kids. Serve with LH Kids

<p>LH Kids Praise Team is open to kids in 2nd - 5th grade who want to help lead worship in Treehouse on Sunday mornings and during special events at Long Hollow. Praise Team members should love God with all their heart, honor God above all else, and serve God with joy.</p>
<h3>Praise Team Requirements </h3>
<p>Praise Team members make a one-year commitment to serve on the team, starting at the beginning of the school year. Every child on the team is assigned a Sunday of the month to serve so they serve at least once a month, with opportunities throughout the year to serve more than once. </p>
<p>Praise Team practices are held on the fourth Sunday of every month to learn new worship songs, recite memory verses, and discuss upcoming events. </p>

One way we seek to do this is by providing opportunities for them to be a force for good in our community and beyond. Each month, we’ll offer a different missions focus so every family has the opportunity to be involved.

Missions Focus

<p>Join Long Hollow on <b>Sunday, February 2</b> for a special Child Dedication Celebration where we will honor families who are choosing to publicly commit their children to the Lord. </p>
<p>Child Dedication will begin at 8:15AM in the Student Building and include a light breakfast, a short video and presentation of what it looks like to commit your child to a Christian home. Families will take the stage in the Worship Center at the beginning of the 9:30AM service for a quick time of prayer from a member of the Family Ministry Team. </p>

<p>Q: How long does the dedication last? <br />A: The dedication lasts about one hour with the majority of the event taking place in the Student Building. It begins with breakfast and photos, followed by a few brief videos, and a short message from an LH Kids ministry leader. It concludes with a brief public presentation of the families to the church</p>
<p>Q: Can I invite family and friends? <br />A: Yes! We encourage you to invite family and friends to this special event. Upon registration, you will have a reserved table with 8 seats. If you have more family or friends who would like to attend, they are welcome to join us for the public dedication in the worship service at 9:30AM. When you register, please let us know how many guests plan on attending so we can have enough food.</p>
<p>Q: Will there be a photographer?<br />A: Yes, each family will have the opportunity to take a family photo. Digital prints will be emailed to families, typically within one week of the dedication. </p>
<p>Q: Can siblings participate in the child dedication? <br />A: Yes! We have toys and small activities ready to help occupy your little ones. This is a family-centered environment and we welcome kids of all ages to participate in the celebration.</p>
<p>Q: What should I wear? <br />A: Whatever you and your little one feel most comfortable in! Some people dress casually in jeans, while others may dress in more formal attire. </p>
<p>Q: Is this an infant baptism? <br />A: No, we believe that people must understand what it means to put their faith in Christ before they are baptized. This event is an opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raise their children to know and follow Jesus. </p>
<p>Q: How often do you have child dedication events? <br />A: We typically host 3-4 child dedication events each year.</p>
