David Landrith

1963 - 2014

On November 18, 2014, Pastor David Landrith finished the race that God had called him to run on this earth. David was a man clearly anointed to bring hope and truth to thousands of people, in Tennessee, and around the world. We mourn the loss of our brave leader and friend.

Yet, we do not grieve as those who have no hope: we fully know that – right now – our pastor is worshipping in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. God has fully healed our pastor and welcomed him into an eternity of joy.

Remembering Pastor David

For thousands of people, David was the catalyst that God used to invigorate their spiritual walk, to begin restoring their marriage, to understand Scripture, and to fall in love with Jesus. We want to celebrate all that God did through David and share the stories of our time with him. You're invited to post your memory here. We'll update this page periodically with your posts.

I was part of a mission team with David that traveled through Osama Ben Ladin’s home city. The few days before we were to travel, the national news said that all “non-essential” U.S. personnel were not to travel there. I told David about this and asked what he thought. His response? We ARE God’s ESSENTIAL personnel. I stood corrected. David’s life and ministry will continue to impact people all over the world. I am thankful for this great brother.

My family and I have experienced three years if life changing events . Losing our businesses and basically everything we have and have had to start over. Many times I have wanted to quit as a dad and as a husband and a leader but David’s encouragement has made me press on. I vividly remember when our world started to crumble a message David preached on a Sunday night. His message was you are not going to like where you are but press on. Thank you David for your unending commitment

There’s no way to adequately convey how much I’ve grown in my spiritual journey sitting under the preaching and teaching of Bro. David. He preached the Gospel without compromise, but more importantly he lived it!! He was an example to us all, and will be greatly and forever missed.

Brother David was my pastor at Candies Creek as I grew up. One night he showed up in a raincoat covered by pictures of the fruits of the spirit and sang a song about them and if you know David singing was lower down on his spiritual gifts haha! I remember that still today and sing that song to my kids. David taught me by example that you could be an athlete and still be a Christian. You could go hard, all out in everything you do in life with Jesus. God broke the mold with David!

We attended at Hendersonville from 2010-2012. i visited because i was invited by the cashier at Publix. After the first Sunday i knew i had found our church. Pastor David’s messages often made us laugh, or cry but always challenged us to follow Christ more closely. I liked his comment some people said, “every time i come to church you preach on giving”, his reply was, “you really need to come more often”. The state of the church address was always a blessing. RIP-you ran your race well.

There are a lot of memories I have regarding Pastor David, but what I remeber most is how he motivated me to want to come to church and how he always made The Word come to life.

As a 21-year-old diagnosed with thyroid cancer, Pastor David’s faith and hope in Christ encouraged me to boldly share what God was doing in my life with others. Pastor David’s faithfulness to preach the Word and point his congregation to the Cross throughout his time at Long Hollow have been instrumental in strengthening and deepening my relationship with God. I am forever thankful that God decided to use David Landrith at Long Hollow Baptist Church to impact the world (and me) for His glory.

Pastor David was simply the greatest man I’ve ever had the honor of knowing. We only attended Long Hollow for a couple of years but David and the church forever changed me and my family forever. I will smile every time I here “get ‘er done”. God bless David, his family and LongHollow Church.
