If you’ve been around church very long, you’ve probably wondered about prayer. Everyone talks about it, but what is it? How do you do it? And why does it seem so hard?
Some of us simply weren’t taught to pray. Others were taught to recite memorized prayers or believe you can only pray using fancy language. Still others have only experienced prayer before meals or during a dire situation.
Simply put, prayer is talking to God. But talking to the God who created the universe can feel intimidating. The truth is that God wants to hear from us. And He wants to speak to us. Our understanding grows and our relationship with God deepens when we communicate with Him.
Prayer is not something we arrive at. It’s not a destination. It’s a spiritual discipline that we practice until the day we see Jesus and can talk to Him face to face.
