Questions From Vision Sunday

On April 14, Pastor Robby preached a special “Vision Sunday” message where he outlined where we’ve been, where we believe God is leading us, and how we’re planning to get there. You can watch the message in its entirety below.

There will be much to discuss and pray about in the days ahead, but we’ve collected answers to some of the most common questions in the following FAQ:

What is our 55x35 Legacy vision?

In the fall of 2023, Pastor Robby unveiled our 55x35 Legacy vision to the church:

Over the next decade, we believe Long Hollow will reach 55,000 people through a legacy of family discipleship, personal impact, and restoration that will change the course of the next generation.

Why return to multi-site?

As part of our 55x35 Legacy vision, we believe God is calling us to reach 25,000 people weekly by 2035.

The simple fact is that we can’t reach the rest of our community the way that we feel called to by expecting them to attend our Hendersonville Campus.

  • If you live far away, it’s difficult to evangelize your friends when you can’t invite them to church with you (many won’t make the drive across town).
  • We want to reach families, but while they may commute to Hendersonville for a Sunday service, many won’t make the same commute for family programming on Wednesdays.
  • Our unique calling to restoration is best contextualized in the local community with help offered nearby.

There’s a limit to how many people our Hendersonville Campus can accommodate, and we believe that campuses throughout our county are the best way to reach families scattered throughout our area (which you can see in the map below). The first additional campus to launch will be our Gallatin Campus at 1200 Hartsville Pike.

How will our multi-site strategy be different this time?

If you’ve been at Long Hollow for a while, you may remember that we had multiple campuses in the past.

Our prior model was to adopt previously established churches who needed help and relaunch them with Long Hollow programming. After years of prayer and planning, we have a fresh vision and strategy to launch Long Hollow campuses that are built from the ground up to reach and serve the communities in which they’re planted.

Where is our Gallatin Campus located?

Our reimagined Gallatin Campus will meet at the same location: 1200 Hartsville Pike in Gallatin. The building and grounds will undergo a small remodel and refreshing process in 2024 to prepare the campus to welcome hundreds of new families in the future.

When will the Gallatin Campus open?

Our launch plans are still under development, but we expect to fully open the Gallatin Campus to the community in early 2025.

I want to help launch the Gallatin Campus! How can I learn more?

We’re holding a special meeting specifically for those interested in helping to launch the Gallatin Campus on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We’ll meet in the Gallatin Campus worship center at 1200 Hartsville Pike.

Are we planning any campuses in addition to Gallatin?

Yes, though we have nothing to share on additional campuses at this time. Pray with us that God will make it clear where He’s calling us to next!

Are we still planting churches?

Of course! We have helped to plant 12 churches over the past 15 years, with 3 more in the pipeline in 2024 alone. We believe God has a specific mission for Long Hollow in our community, across the nation, and around the world.

How would we expand the Hendersonville campus?

Just as we're launching campuses to increase our impact, we also want to expand our Hendersonville Campus to reach as many as possible in our area.

This is an area of focus for our leadership teams in 2024 and beyond. We’ve partnered with an outside firm that specializes in long-term master planning, and are in the discovery phase of that journey now.

Although we don’t have concrete details to share right now, we believe this expansion could include a reimagining of our kids spaces, an increase in adult education space, and even a new worship center with greater seating capacity. We hope to have more to share later this year.

If we expand, won’t parking and traffic continue to be an issue?

Part of the master planning process is building and expanding with details like these in mind. Additional parking would be part of this expansion, as well as optimizing traffic flow on and off of our Hendersonville Campus throughout the week. Our goal is to both improve the parking experience for guests, and to limit the potential for traffic congestion for our community as much as possible.

What’s the goal with Long Hollow’s online strategy?

Our mission as a church is to help every person live out their God-given calling as they follow Jesus and make disciples every day. In 2024, not only are we reaching thousands every week locally, but countless more are joining us online from all over the world. Simply put, our goal is to disciple and share Jesus with every person that God brings to our church.

For many who find us online, this means getting to know them and finding a way to connect with them with a local church in their area. For others, it may mean helping them start a group with other believers, or even raising them up as a Long Hollow “local site” over time. The internet has changed the scope and reach of our church in exciting ways, and we’re praying through the best ways to steward these relationships in the years to come. If you would like to learn more about hosting a watch party or becoming a local site, please email Andrew Bolton.

How are we expanding our prison ministries?

Beginning in 2023, God began to open new doors for us to share the Gospel in prisons in our community and across the nation. What began as a few strategic partnerships throughout our area has now grown into an unbelievable ministry opportunity throughout several states, and even digitally through a new online effort.

We launched our first prison campus in February at Walker State Prison, with another planned to launch in June in Sumner County. Recovery Refuge (with local partner Adam French) is about to open its doors, and we’re helping outfit the residence now. Finally, because of your generosity through this year’s Easter Offering, we’ve been able to fund the availability of Long Hollow’s weekly messages through the Pando app to more than 500,000 prisoners nationwide. We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to be a beacon of hope in one of the darkest places imaginable.

How can I pray?

Join us every Tuesday this spring for a special prayer gathering from 6-7 p.m. in the Chapel. The doors will be open from 5:45 - 6 p.m. for personal communion and silence and solitude. Open to anyone, it’s a great opportunity to pray for each other, our community, and for the future of our church. You can learn more about prayer at Long Hollow here.
