Monthly Prayer Guides

OT260 Prayer Companion Guide

This prayer guide will help you engage with God's Word in a fresh way. You'll find prompts to guide you through personal prayer and ways to pray for our church/community.

The ACTS prayer model helps us pray as Jesus instructed in Matthew 6.

Adoration is expressing deep love and reverence for who God is. It's seeking His face—not just His hand. When we truly worship God and recognize His character, we lay down our tendency toward self-worship. Take time to focus on who He is: His character, His names, His works, His faithfulness.

"But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts up my head." Psalm 3:3 "Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God, the Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come." Revelation 4:8

Confession is bringing our sin honestly before God. After adoring Him for who He is, confession becomes a natural response—because as we behold His holiness, His light reveals the places in us that need His grace. Come to God with humility and honesty, inviting Him to search your heart and lead you back to His best for your life.

"Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way." Psalm 139:23-24

Thanksgiving is expressing gratitude to God for who He is and all He's done. Thank Him for His provision, His protection, the doors He's opened, the ways He's shown up. Gratitude shifts our perspective and reminds us of His faithful love.

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34 "Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in everything; this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Supplication is bringing your needs and requests to God with humility and trust. He invites us to come to Him with everything—nothing is too big or too small. As we bring our requests, His peace will guard our heart and mind.

"Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
