The LH Kids Praise Team members are 2nd - 5th grade children who love God with all of their heart, honor God above all else, and serve God with joy. If your child would like to join the Praise Team, please fill out the LH Kids Praise Team Application.
Current Volunteer Opportunities with LH Kids
Volunteer Positions:
Check-In - Welcome families with a smile and assist them with the check-in process, ensuring that each guest has excellent first impression and that all safety policies are followed. Commitment is about 30-45 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Media Tech & Production -Work behind the scenes, operating the audio, visual, and lighting portions of large group to provide a seamless and excellent experience for preschoolers and children where God’s truth is clearly communicated. Commitment ranges from about 45-90 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Curriculum + Set-Up Team - Work behind the scenes helping the LH Kids team prepare lessons, organize and cut out materials, clean and organize classrooms. This is an extremely flexible role with opportunities to help throughout the week or even from home.
Leader in Training - Teens under the age of 16 may serve under the supervision of an adult leader in a variety of LH Kids roles ranging from assistant small group leaders to leading worship.
Leader Positions:
Hallway Coordinator - Invest in 4-8 classroom leaders by offering classroom support, encouragement, and guidance during LH Kids services. Ensure that each child has an excellent experience, and that all safety policies are followed. Commitment is about 1.5 - 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules!
Group Leader - Guide children in age and stage appropriate activities, games, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum to help them know God and find community. Commitment is about 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules!
Assistant Leader - Provide assistance in an LH Kids class by helping the group leader with games, activities, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum. Commitment is about 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules!
Worship Leader - Lead children in worship through song, hand motions, or with an instrument during large group time. Commitment ranges from about 30-90 minutes on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Puppets - Use puppets to share God’s truth with preschoolers and children in large group time. Scripts and training are provided. Commitment ranges from about 30-90 minutes on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Special Needs - Guide children with special needs in developmentally appropriate activities, games, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum to help them connect with God and their peers. Opportunities include one-on-one supports as a “buddy” or as a leader in our sensory rooms - unique spaces designed specifically for children with various needs. Commitment is about 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules!
Infant and Toddler Leader - Care for infants and young toddlers by providing a safe, secure, and loving environment. Commitment is about 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules!
Host & Bible Storyteller - Communicate God’s truth to preschoolers or children in a large group setting using the provided scripts and curriculum. This person should be a dynamic communicator and storyteller with a passion for God’s Word. Commitment ranges from about 30-90 minutes on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Volunteer + Leader Requirements
We value safety and want to provide our children with a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. To ensure a top quality experience, there are several requirements for volunteering with LH Kids. Please note that there are different requirements for volunteer and leader positions since some positions work directly with children teaching or leading, while others do not.
Requirements for Volunteer Positions:
- Complete a background check for volunteers age 16 and up. Must be renewed every two years.
- Complete a volunteer application.
Requirements for Leader Positions: (Must be at least 16 years old)
- Complete a background check for leaders age 16 and up. Must be renewed every two years.
- Complete a leader application.
- Be a Long Hollow Church member.
- Complete the Stewards of Children training from Darkness to Light to help raise awareness and prevent child abuse.
