Serve Globally

Why We Go to the Nations

We go because God has always been a missionary God. From His promise to bless all nations through Abraham to the final scene of every tribe and tongue worshiping before the throne, the story of Scripture moves outward. Jesus didn’t leave the Great Commission as a suggestion. He gave it as marching orders: go, make disciples, baptize, teach. We go because the gospel is too good to keep local, because billions still have never heard the name of Jesus, and because the love that found us was never meant to stop with us.

Sent Missionaries

We count it a privilege to send our own. Missionaries carry the hope of Christ across borders, languages, and cultures so that the unreached can hear and believe.

In 2013, God started working in the hearts of Dan and Michelle Dropp through short term mission trips to Haiti and Uganda. As he continued to stir their hearts, he opened their eyes to the needs of orphaned, fatherless, and vulnerable children through a vision of caring for their needs as well as serving young adults in their late teens and 20’s.

In 2017 God moved them to Uganda to start fulfilling this call. In 2022, He led them to start a ministry deep in a village that had no Christian presence. By God’s grace, He has allowed them to help hundreds of children with education, food, shelter, and most importantly, Jesus’s heart for them.

Please pray for:

  • Sponsors for orphans within their ministry at Redeemed Christian Ministries.
  • Students to continue to come to the Lord.
  • The upcoming secondary school to be fully-funded and staffed with strong Christian leaders.

Kavi is a missionary working with Greater Europe Mission (GEM) to reach artists and refugees in Scotland. In Scotland, she will work with GEM to connect with local artists, churches, and arts organizations, to show them the love of God and remind them that the reason they create is inspired by a Creator God. The team Kavi is part of is focused on supporting creative ministries that local arts organizations and churches are engaged in, as well as creating new ministry opportunities where there are none.

Please pray for:

  • Scotland is 3% Christian. Pray for an increase in the gospel being spread and accepted.
  • Pray for refugees calling this place home, for safety and peace in their transitions.
  • Pray for the churches of Scotland to be strengthened and encouraged.

Kayla Whittaker serves in Sofia, a historic city surrounded by mountains and the capital of Bulgaria. She serves children in social homes (orphanages) and in minority communities of the Roma (gypsy) people, who are often marginalized and impoverished. Kayla connects with people through discipleship and various service opportunities within the places she serves.

Kayla faces challenges of cultural differences as well as the monumental task of ministering in a spiritually void area. (Only 3% or less of European populations say they have a relationship with Christ.) Trying to break down barriers and minister to a minority population is difficult, and even further illustrates the need for unity in the body of Christ.

Please pray for:

  • The people of Bulgaria to have softened hearts & openness to the Gospel
  • The orphans and Roma people Kayla works with to see the Lord’s desire for a relationship with them
  • The Lord’s guidance and power to work through Kayla to fulfill His will
  • New friends and mission partners

The Rainey family serves the people of San Pedro de Macorìs, Dominican Republic, by using their skills as licensed physical therapists to meet medical needs. They hope to one day bring medical teams into the country to set up medical clinics in the local church. Wade also has a passion for sports and loves working with kids, so he is able to use those within Gracia y Verdad youth sports ministry and through small group discipleship with a local baseball academy. Kacey has a heart for women and children and serves alongside Mercy Workshop, a women’s rescue ministry focused on providing jobs and support to women who are ready to leave the streets of San Pedro and an industry of abuse and exploitation.

San Pedro, considered the capital of Dominican baseball, is a city of about 200,000, located 45 miles east of the country’s actual capital–Santo Domingo. With Catholicism as the national religion and an undercurrent of strict legalism and tradition, there is a significant need for the understanding of the grace of Jesus Christ.

Please pray for:

  • Health and endurance as they navigate life overseas and the challenges that come with it.
  • Their knowledge of Spanish to continue to improve so they can share the Gospel and treat patients in their heart language.
  • The people of San Pedro they will encounter with the Gospel. Pray that minds and hearts will be open and softened and that life change will come as a result of God’s presence here.

The Robb family, Kyle, Erin, Keyson and Braxton Robb serve the people of Arequipa, Peru. Located in southern Peru, Arequipa is in the Chili River Valley of the Andes Mountains. The Robb family serves in and through their local church and church plants, and through outreach communities. The outreach communities currently do not have a church, so they take God’s Word to the people through teaching, arts, and sports.

There is a deep sense of hopelessness among the people of Peru. Many are struggling with their purpose in life. Unfortunately, many need to work two or three jobs in order to make ends meet. This imbalance leads to marriage struggles, difficult financial situations, and overall sadness. They need the hope of Jesus! The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few.

Please pray:

  • For wisdom and guidance from the Holy Spirit as we work in mountain villages.
  • That God would send a godly local minister to work alongside us.
  • Religious traditions will begin to break as we share the Gospel.

Please pray for:

  • The hearts of the Muslims we meet, both online and in person. May their eyes, ears, and hearts be receptive to the Gospel.
  • The new believers who have decided to leave Islam and turn to Jesus. May they grow in their faith and have an unquenchable desire to know Jesus and share Him with others.

Get Strong Ministries serves the people in Ocotal, Nicaragua. Ocotal is a small Spanish-speaking city located in the northern part of the country near the Honduran border where much of the country’s coffee is grown. Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in Latin America.

Get Strong Ministries uses fitness as a way to make disciples, using their CrossFit gym to build intentional relationships with people and the community. This allows the opportunity to share the Gospel and begin discipleship in a natural way. They also serve in a local men’s rehab, children’s home, local schools, and offer community clinics and various service projects to individuals in need. They’ve also recently planted a church in the gym to better serve and minister to the community.

Please pray for:

  • That Get Strong would continue to boldly and faithfully share the Gospel through every aspect of the ministry, and lives will be transformed through deeper relationships with Christ.
  • For wisdom, unity, and discernment for the leadership team as they continue to steward growth, navigate new opportunities, and serve the people God brings into the ministry.
  • For protection, endurance, and encouragement for the staff, volunteers, and community as they continue pursuing the mission God has called them to with integrity and perseverance.

The Gideons International is an association of Christian business and professional men. Its 300,000+ members in about 200 countries give out Bibles and New Testaments to people who don’t yet know Jesus. Members hand out Scripture personally and place it in hotels, hospitals, prisons and other public places. Churches and donors fund the work. Together they give out more than two Bibles or New Testaments every second, with tens of millions a year in South America, Asia and Africa.

Global Outreach International is a Mississippi-based missions agency whose mission is “Showing and sharing God’s love.” It began in 1970 as a farming ministry that planted churches in Latin America. Today it has 370+ missionaries in 75+ countries and partners with 170+ sending churches. It trains missionaries, sends them and keeps caring for their families. Hands for Vietnam is a nonprofit based in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, that provides sign language training and resources for Deaf people and their communities in Central Vietnam. It believes every Deaf person was created with purpose and value, in a culture where deaf people have often been seen as less capable and as burdens to their families. Many deaf adults there cannot read or write, few deaf students continue school past 5th grade, and trained interpreters are scarce. The ministry’s work includes early intervention, sign language and interpreter training, education, family advocacy, Deaf awareness and outreach to deaf people in rural areas. Each June it helps host a summer camp for Deaf students from three schools in the region, including Central Deaf Services in Da Nang.

Please pray for:

  • An outpouring of the Holy Spirit among the deaf community in Central Vietnam
  • The Gospel message will be clearly communicated, understood, and received
  • The education center to be able to reach out to the deaf community and establish a safe space

King’s Kids Africa is a Christian ministry that cares for orphans and the most vulnerable children in East Africa, mainly in rural Uganda. Each child is raised in a family setting with schooling and a local church family. The ministry works with the Global Orphan Project and its Ugandan branch, GO Africa, which runs 35 orphan homes across Uganda. Another partner is the Presbytery of East Africa, a network of more than 110 churches that owns the orphan homes, schools and churches the ministry builds. People can get involved through child sponsorships and mission trips to Uganda, and the ministry is building a long-term education fund for the children.

Living Water Community Transformation (LWCT) is a Christian nonprofit that helps South Sudanese refugees walk with Christ. Its work began in 2003, when volunteer medical teams from the U.S. went to South Sudan. Over about 16 years in Lakes State, it planted 20 churches and opened two primary schools. Today it serves families who fled the war and now live in the Palorinya refugee settlement in northern Uganda. Its main ministry is the Timothy Logos Center, a two-year Bible college for pastors and church leaders, along with Bible clubs and discipleship groups. It also runs a Christian preschool and primary school for more than 500 refugee children, job and small-business training, about 120 acres of community gardens and a monthly food distribution for refugees with disabilities.

In La Carpio, Costa Rica, the age at which abuse is detected is notably lower than in many other areas, with cases identified in children as young as three years old. In response to this urgent need, Matthew 19:14 Ministries established Seeds of Light.

Beginning in the summer of 2023, Matthew 19:14 Ministries started a pilot program serving 13 children between the ages of 3 and 5. Since then, this full-day program operates three days per week, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Each child receives three nutritious meals daily, participates in hands-on learning activities, enjoys playtime and rest, and is protected from the dangers present in their surroundings. The program quickly grew to 35 children, and they outgrew the building we were in. All the children are introduced to the love of Jesus, offering them hope, healing, and a strong foundation for their future. Many have now professed Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Please pray for:

  • Resources to hire 3 new teachers and take on 35 new children
  • Protection over the staff and children
  • Parents to participate in weekly Bible studies and have a deep hunger for Jesus

Middle Tennessee Mission Outreach’s desire is to share the love of Jesus Christ by meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs. They distribute Bibles, host VBS for children, and offer special services for whole communities (preaching, fellowship, showing Christian films, etc.). They also work to improve future living conditions across rural areas, especially focusing on the poorest of the poor. Construction projects can include new church buildings, schools, latrines, water projects, and more.

Please pray for:

  • God’s name to be glorified in all MTMO’s actions and projects.
  • The hearts of the Honduran people to be softened and receptive to the Gospel
  • God to raise up new leaders for the expansion of MTMO’s “Mujeres de Fe” ( Women of Faith) ministry

There are many ways to be a part of MTMO ministries. You can donate your time and resources or join in on a mission trip. You can participate in fundraising efforts or support the ministry with your prayers.

Mission Discovery organizes five to ten day short term mission trips for youth, adult, and family groups. They handle the logistical details so that you can focus on serving. Teams will be involved in vital construction projects along with outreach opportunities to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Mission Discovery trips aim to help developing communities. Teams of volunteers build homes for families in need, care for orphans, feed the hungry, clothe and educate school children, provide medical care and empower churches to bring hope to their communities. The Mission Discovery staff arranges food, lodging, and logistics so volunteers will be effective from day one. Each night they offer a worship service to provide an atmosphere to come together and reflect on what the volunteers have experienced during the day.

Please pray for:

  • Safety for their teams as they serve in the US and around the world
  • Two new full-time project coordinators to join the Mission Discovery ranks within the next two years
  • New donors and supporters to partner with Mission Discovery in sharing the Gospel

Nathan and Lynna are missionaries working with Greater Europe Mission in Austria alongside the Bund Evangelikaler Gemeinden in Österreich. Nathan works with local musicians to help strengthen indigenous peoples throughout Europe to write and record their songs in their heart languages. Lynna is passionate about serving refugees and is connected to a ministry that serves the largest refugee camp in Austria. Both have a passion for coffee, outdoor ministry, and becoming fluent in German to reach the heart of every Austrian they meet.

Please pray for:

  • Austria connects to Catholic roots, yet only 2% of the population claim to have a saving faith.
  • Pray for hearts to be open to Jesus and not the idolatry of Catholic tradition.
  • For Christ to strengthen and unify the churches in Austria.
  • For Holy Spirit fullness to help them share the gospel with the poor and needy as well as the rich and independent.

There are people who, simply because of where they were born, will never have the chance at the same life many of us in the developed world enjoy. A life where their children can go to school, where they can get medical care, where they can get help when disaster strikes, where they can experience the love of Jesus.

Millions of people around the world live cut-off from all this and more by either geographic barriers—like jungles, mountains, and deserts—or by social, political, or religious barriers.

MAF’s vision is to see isolated people changed by the love of Christ.

Please pray for:

  • MAF will be opening a new operation in Nigeria in 2027. Please pray for the team working to begin flying there next year and for the safety of the flights.
  • The biggest need as an organization is for more pilots, mechanics, teachers, and IT professionals to serve on the mission field. Pray that the Lord would raise up more workers who have the skills they need and a heart to reach isolated people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Safety is a high priority at MAF. They fly in some of the most dangerous places on the earth. Please pray for the safety of the flights, passengers, and pilots.

Open Eyes partners with trusted local leaders serving in some of the hardest places of the world. By providing resources such as motorbikes for transportation, leadership training, humanitarian aid, and community Life Centers, they help equip these leaders to share the hope of Christ while meeting practical needs in their communities.

Please pray for:

  • The local leaders and Mobile Messengers they partner with—that they would have wisdom, courage, and endurance as they serve their communities.
  • The people and families being reached in these communities—that they would experience hope, healing, and the love of Christ.
  • The continued growth of partnerships that allow this work to expand into new regions where the need is great.

To Every People (TEP) brings the gospel to the least-reached people groups in some of the hardest places in the world. Its stated vision is “equipping those who take the gospel to where it is not.” TEP works through local partners in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Together they focus on people groups no ministry is reaching yet, making disciples among them and starting churches.

Upstairs Foundation is a nonprofit based in White House, Tennessee, that grew out of Long Hollow’s own focus on orphans in 2009. It helps people take their “best step upward” through health, education, steady jobs and the gospel. The church bought land in Jeremie, Haiti, to build an orphan village. Construction went on after the 2010 earthquake, and the first 70 children moved in that June. Today the foundation supports Lundi School and its social work, caring for more than 400 children with its Haitian partner, El Shaddai Ministries International.

Church Plants

The local church is God’s plan A for reaching the world. New churches reach new people, raise up new leaders, and bring the presence of Christ into neighborhoods and nations. When we plant churches, we’re establishing outposts of the kingdom that will make disciples for generations.
