<p>LH Kids meets every Sunday morning during regular worship services. Kid’s programming is available for children from 6 weeks old through fifth grade. Children will participate in both small and large group environments where they will explore God’s Word and worship in age-appropriate environments.</p>

Kids Sunday Morning Activities

<p>We want LH Kids to be a safe and fun environment for your kids to encounter Jesus on a weekly basis. With that goal in mind, all LH Kids activities involve a simple check-in process that provides a quick and secure way to drop off and pick up your kids on Sundays and Wednesdays.</p>

<p>Check-in stations are located next to each entrance for the kids area both downstairs in the main lobby and upstairs near the rear bridge entrance. Read on for more details about the two types of check-in that are available, and how you can download a digital fast pass to make things even easier.</p>

<h3>First Time Parents</h3>
<p>If you’re new to LH Kids, have a friend visiting with you, or have a more complex check-in arrangement for your kids, our assisted check-in stations are always available to get you checked in and on your way. A volunteer will guide you through the process to ensure your kids and guests are placed in the correct activities for the day.</p>

<h3>Returning Parents</h3>

<p>After you have checked in for the first time, the next time you need to check your kids in to LH Kids activities, you have two options:</p>

<h3>Self Check-In</h3>

<p>Simply approach the kiosk, scan your digital fast pass (more info below) or enter your phone number, and follow the simple instructions on the screen. It only takes a few taps to select your kids, confirm the room, and print your tags.</p>

<p>If you have a question or need assistance, volunteers are available nearby to lend a hand.</p>

<h3>Digital Fast Pass</h3>

<p>You can always use your phone number or keychain tag to check in, but we’ve also created a digital fast pass that makes checking in a breeze.</p>

<p>Your fast pass only takes seconds to download on your phone and it’s compatible with the digital wallets on both iPhone and Android devices. Any time you’re on campus, the pass can automatically display on your lock screen, making quick check in only a tap away.</p>

<p><u><b>Get your fast pass by texting CODE to 98173.</b></u> For quick access, be sure to save it to your phone's wallet (similar to where your phone stores boarding passes and movie tickets). Your pass not only works for kids check-in, but for any other activity or event at Long Hollow that requires check in.</p>

<p>Join us on <b>Monday, April 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a Mom &amp; Me Hang for preschoolers age 3 and under and their moms!</b> We’ll meet at the Indoor Playground and have a great time of play and connection. We will offer four 30-minute sensory classes for moms and kids beginning at 9:30 a.m. While you’re not in class, preschoolers can have snacks and play time while moms enjoy coffee and an opportunity to connect. This event is free but requires registration.</p>

<p>Join Long Hollow on <b>Sunday, April 14</b> for a special Child Dedication Celebration where we will honor families who are choosing to publicly commit their children to the Lord. </p>
<p>Child Dedication will be in Treehouse 3 in the Kids Building and include a light breakfast, a short video, and a presentation of what it looks like to commit your child to a Christian home. Families will take the stage in the Worship Center at the beginning of the service for a quick time of prayer from Pastor Robby.</p>

The 9:30 a.m. service dedication will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Treehouse 3.<br />

<p>Mark your calendars now and join us for Kids Con 2024! Kids Con is a free event and will be Tuesday, June 4 - Friday, June 7 from 6 - 8:30 p.m., with Family Night on Friday evening, June 7. </p>
<p>Kids Con is for kids age 4 - rising 5th grade. Our rising 5th graders will have their own specially-curated experience as they prepare for their last year of elementary school.</p>
<p>Kids Con will be lots of fun with large group worship, small group, missions, and games, but we will use all of these things to help kids focus on discovering God’s truth never changes, everyone needs Jesus, and learning to speak the truth in love. </p>

<p>LH Kids, let’s go to camp! Rising 2nd - 5th graders will have the opportunity to spend extended time focused on their relationship with God in a fun, exciting, and new environment away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life at <a href="https://www.tnbaptist.org/camps" target="_blank">Carson Springs</a> in Newport, Tennessee, July 8 - 11, 2024. </p>
<p>In a tech-free zone, we want to give children a nostalgic, meaningful, and fun experience where they can grow in their faith as they learn more about themselves and the God who created them. They’ll also have the opportunity to try new things, experience new challenges and adventures, make new friends, and build lasting memories. </p>

LH Kids Events

<p>Beginning on January 10, LH Kids is hosting 4-week equipping workshops for children in Kindergarten - 5th grade. These Bible studies are designed to better equip children to study God’s Word and grow as a spirit-led follower, intentional friend, humble guide, and force for good. Registration is available for the entire semester. </p>
<p>Check in and drop off begins at 6:15 p.m. Programming is from 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.</p>
<h3>Winter/Spring Schedule</h3>
<h4>Kindergarten</h4>
<p><b>Bible Basics for Kindergarteners: </b>Kindergarteners are invited to participate in a foundational Bible study that gives children an introduction and overview of how to navigate the Bible. This study will build on itself, so we encourage children to participate the entire semester if possible. This study will begin in January and end in April. Bibles will be provided for children to use at church during the study. *There is limited space for this study. Once spots are filled, Kindergarteners will still be able to register for childcare. </p>
<h4>1st - 4th Grade</h4>
<h4>January</h4>
<p><b>Game Changers:</b> Teams are God’s idea, and He wants us all on His team. Throughout this series, kids will see that playing on God’s team makes life better, and they’ll learn several things they can do to be great teammates.</p>
<h4>February </h4>
<p><b>On the Go:</b> God has different names that remind us who He is and what He is like. As kids travel the globe in this series, they will discover different names for God and how we can know Him in these different ways. Kids will also explore new places and meet new people as they are "On the Go!"  
</p>
<h4>March </h4>
<p><b>Treasure Hunt:</b> We’re pirates setting sail to the land where it all began—Israel! Many years ago, God chose a special land and a special people to make His most special treasure—Jesus—evident to all who search for it. This special place is as real today as it was back then. As we search for treasure along this journey, we will discover that the good news about Jesus is the best treasure of all—a treasure that we can store in our very own hearts. </p>
<h4>April </h4>
<p><b>Star Voyager:</b> On this voyage through outer space, kids will learn their true identities as they discover exactly who God says they are.</p>
<h4>5th Grade </h4>
<p>5th Graders meet weekly to engage with God's Word in a unique setting designed just for them. The January/February series will focus on "What's Next?" as students learn basics of the Christian faith including, "Why should I read my Bible?", "What is biblical community?", and "How can I share my faith with others?" Register once for the entire semester.</p>

<h3>Wednesday Night Childcare</h3>
<p><b>Childcare is available for birth through pre-K for children whose parents are in Equipping Workshops, Step Studies, or volunteering on campus.</b> Kindergarten - 5th graders who need childcare will be invited to attend a Bible study. (Kindergarten has limited Bible study spots available. Once filled, Kindergarteners can still sign up for childcare.) Childcare will not offer any additional studies. Registration for childcare is required.</p>

<p><b>Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus? Perhaps your child made the decision to follow Jesus, but hasn't been baptized yet. Then this class is for your family! </b></p>
<p>LH Kids hosts baptism classes both on Zoom and in person to best meet your family's schedule and preference. These hour-long classes are designed for children and their parents to participate in together. 
    </p>
    <p>In the class, we discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, study what the Bible says about baptism, and answer questions children may have about what to expect. Our goal is to help families prepare for baptism. This class is intentionally designed to facilitate conversation between children and parents. We also want to make sure that children fully understand their decision to get baptized.

<p>At Long Hollow, we desire to be a place where families with special needs know they belong so they may experience the love of Jesus Christ. We appreciate parents giving us time to find the right volunteer for their child and filling out our intake form (link intake form here) to help us best prepare for any needs their child may have.

<h4>What Is a Buddy?</h4>
<p>Because inclusion is our overall goal with everyone, a buddy serves to help assist a student in a typical class. Children can remain with their peers unless they need a break. We want each child to have a consistent buddy or pair of buddies where relationships are fostered and trust is gained. A buddy’s role is to help facilitate meaningful connections between your child and their leader and peers, as well as helping your child grow to know and love The Lord. If this is the best option for your child, please allow us a little time to pair them with a volunteer.</p>

<h4>What Is a Sensory Room?</h4>
<p>A Sensory Rooms is a stand alone classroom that is intentionally designed for anyone who may benefit from a smaller ratio of leader to student and modified curriculum specifically designed to meet the needs of different learning styles. In any of our Sensory Rooms, you can find a multitude of fun activities that engage all the senses. We have exercise balls, trampolines, swings and lots of other things to help kids feel comfortable.These classes are offered for Elementary children during the 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services at our Hendersonville Campus.</p>

We work specifically with our children with special needs to ensure that they get the most out of both large group and small group experiences.

Special Needs

<p>Long Hollow Weekday Preschool is a ministry of Long Hollow Church. Our commitment is to create a nurturing environment for preschoolers (3 months through pre-k) to grow <i>spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally.</i> While teaching preschoolers is our primary focus, we also desire to minister to parents and families. Each day is structured with a variety of age-appropriate activities. Children in the two’s classes and up participate in music classes weekly. Pre-k also has Spanish class and Chapel weekly.</p><br />

Commitment is about 30-45 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings. </p><p><b>Media Tech &amp; Production</b> -Work behind the scenes, operating the audio, visual, and lighting portions of large group to provide a seamless and excellent experience for preschoolers and children where God’s truth is clearly communicated. Commitment ranges from about 45-90 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.</p><p><b>Curriculum + Set-Up Team</b> - Work behind the scenes helping the LH Kids team prepare lessons, organize and cut out materials, clean and organize classrooms. This is an extremely flexible role with opportunities to help throughout the week or even from home. </p><p><b>Leader in Training</b> - Teens under the age of 16 may serve under the supervision of an adult leader in a variety of LH Kids roles ranging from assistant small group leaders to leading worship. </p><h5>Leader Positions:</h5><p><b>Hallway Coordinator</b> - Invest in 4-8 classroom leaders by offering classroom support, encouragement, and guidance during LH Kids services. Ensure that each child has an excellent experience, and that all safety policies are followed. Commitment is about 1.5 - 2 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights. Flexible schedules! </p><p><b>Group Leader</b> - Guide children in age and stage appropriate activities, games, and Bible lessons using the provided curriculum to help them know God and find community. <p>At Long Hollow, our mission is to live out our <b>God-given calling</b> as we <b>follow Jesus</b> and <b>make disciples</b> every day. We believe our children can be empowered to fulfill this mission in their own lives. One way we seek to do this is by providing opportunities for them to be a force for good in our community and beyond. Each month, LH Kids offers a different missions focus that every kid has the opportunity to be involved in. </p>

<p>We are so thankful for how we have continued to see families care for the elderly through our nursing home serve days! Another opportunity is coming up to brighten the day of our friends on <b>Saturday, February 10.</b> We’ll meet at various nursing homes at 10 a.m. to play games and spend time with the residents. <p>James 1:27 says, <i>Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.</i></p>
<p>This Valentine's season, our Girls Ministry is partnering with Brighten Up Nashville, a ministry that delivers flowers to widows on Valentine’s Day. We will discuss serving opportunities during our Galentines Party during Life Groups on Sunday, February 11. </p>

Missions Focus

<p>Join Long Hollow on <b>Sunday, June 30</b> for a special Child Dedication Celebration where we will honor families who are choosing to publicly commit their children to the Lord. </p>
<p>Child Dedication will be in the Student Building and include a light breakfast, a short video, and a presentation of what it looks like to commit your child to a Christian home. Families will take the stage in the Worship Center at the beginning of the service for a quick time of prayer from our <b>Family Pastor, Jeff Borton</b>.</p>
<p><b>We have two options for Child Dedication on Sunday, June 30.</b><br /> 
The 9:30 a.m. service dedication will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Student Building.<br />
The 11:15 a.m. service dedication will begin at 10:15 a.m. in the Student Building.<br />

<p>Q: How long does the dedication last? <br />A: The dedication lasts about one hour with the majority of the event taking place in the Student Building. It begins with breakfast and photos, followed by a few brief videos, and a short message from an LH Kids ministry leader. It concludes with a brief public presentation of the families to the church</p>
<p>Q: Can I invite family and friends? <br />A: Yes! We encourage you to invite family and friends to this special event. Upon registration, you will have a reserved table with 8 seats. If you have more family or friends who would like to attend, they are welcome to join us for the public dedication in the worship service at 9:30 or 11:15 a.m. When you register, please let us know how many guests plan on attending so we can have enough food.</p>
<p>Q: Will there be a photographer?<br />A: Yes, each family will have the opportunity to take a family photo. Digital prints will be emailed to families, typically within one week of the dedication. </p>
<p>Q: Can siblings participate in the child dedication? <br />A: Yes! We have toys and small activities ready to help occupy your little ones. This is a family-centered environment and we welcome kids of all ages to participate in the celebration.</p>
<p>Q: What should I wear? <br />A: Whatever you and your little one feel most comfortable in! Some people dress casually in jeans, while others may dress in more formal attire. </p>
<p>Q: Is this an infant baptism? <br />A: No, we believe that people must understand what it means to put their faith in Christ before they are baptized. This event is an opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raise their children to know and follow Jesus. </p>
<p>Q: How often do you have child dedication events? <br />A: We typically host 3-4 child dedication events each year.</p>
