Long Hollow is excited to partner with Compassion International in their mission to care for children in need by meeting their physical, social, economic, and spiritual needs. They care for children around the world, but our focus is specifically on the Dominican Republic.
Compassion is a Christ centered, church-driven, and child-focused organization. They are the world’s leading authority in holistic child development through sponsorship. Their only partnerships are through local churches in 25 countries around the world!
They provide comprehensive care to help children fully develop and become responsible and fulfilled adults. When you sponsor a child, you provide:
You can sponsor as an individual, family, or even a life group. You get to correspond with your sponsored child and can even arrange to visit them in their home country of the Dominican Republic. Sponsorship is an amazing way to engage your family or life group in meeting the needs of others in Jesus’ name and helps under-resourced children know the love of Jesus in practical and tangible ways. Sponsorship of a child is $38 per month, and a minimum of 80 cents of every dollar goes to life-changing programs that meet the specific needs of each child.
We can’t wait to see how God uses Long Hollow to change the lives of children in the Dominican Republic.

Compassion is committed to directing a minimum of 80 cents of every dollar into life-changing programs, and has consistently been recognized by Charity Navigator, Forbes, and the Nonprofit Times for superior financial integrity.
Two to four months after sponsorship begins.
Your credit/debit card will be charged for the initial payment when the form arrives at headquarters (within 10 business days). Sponsors may call at any time to adjust their monthly auto-pay date.
Yes! We need one person to act as the primary contact, providing mailing and payment information. It is also fine to add the name of the group somewhere on the form, to the right of the contact info. You can write this manually on any open space.
This is a personal commitment. We understand that a sponsor’s financial situation may change, so you can stop at any time. We ask however, for the sake of the child, that sponsors enter into this relationship with the intention that it will be for the long term. Sponsored children graduate from the program between the ages of 18 and 22, after receiving some post high school training or education.
Yes! If you are planning a trip to your sponsored child’s country, we ask that Compassion be given at least eight weeks notice. We also provide scheduled Sponsor Tours, which are listed on compassion.com/get-involved/trips-visits.
You may send anything that will fit in a flat envelope (cannot exceed 8-1/2” x 11” and ¼” thick). Sponsors may also give four types of monetary gifts each year: birthday, Christmas, general gift and family gift. Christmas gifts are pooled for all Compassion children; all other gifts go directly to your child. The money will be used to purchase gifts for your child locally after a small administration fee of 10%.
