Italy is a long, mountainous peninsula that dominates the central Meditteranean Sea. Aside from the mainland, the country also includes the two large islands off its coast, Sadinia and Sicily. In a population of over 60 million people, only 632,000 people are considered evangelical Christians this is just 1% of the entire population in this region. Three main needs have been identified in the lives of the Italian church: identity, unity, and training. Understanding what being a believer truly means, accompanied by community in the church to complete the good work (through public witness, church planting, quality training), and being better equipped to participate in cultural engagement will help build the church and spread the gospel throughout the country of Italy.

Long Hollow partners with the local church, Breccia de Roma. Their church launched in 2010, and since then has planted two other churches in the city of Rome. They have a goal in the next ten years to plant three more!

This trip is an opportunity to serve and encourage the local church through learning. You will learn what it means to be a minority religious group in a Roman Catholic context that is increasingly becoming secular. The team will see and experience how to promote an evangelical culture through planting churches, preaching the Word, theological training, literature and the arts, engaging families, and mercy ministries.

*This trip is a vision trip as we explore a potential long-term partnership with Breccia de Roma.
