Often referred to as The Crossroads of Western Europe, Belgium is located in Europe between France and Germany. With a population of almost 11 million people, just 132,569 identify as evangelical Christians. With Catholicism at a rapid decline, atheists and non-religious people now number 31% of the population. The church currently faces five major crises: declining commitment, waning influence, a sever lack of students in seminaries, mass defection, and the destruction of Catholicism’s reputation through pedophilia scandals. Rapid secularization with the introduction of several very liberal laws that are contrary to Biblical understanding of subjects such as the sanctity of life, sexuality, and marriage. While Belgium may be materially prosperous, it is also a spiritually poor land.

There is currently no evangelical church in the city of Namur. Our IMB (International Mission Board) missionary partners are working toward launching one in the city. To do so, they need to build relationships and share the gospel with as many people in the city as possible. On this trip, your team will assist in initiating conversations, building relationships, and promoting and leading the English club.
