Easter Invites

One of my “unchurched” co-workers said they thought their neighborhood was having an early Easter egg hunt when they saw eggs in people’s yards…so they opened their egg thinking they’d find candy and instead saw the Long Hollow Baptist Church Easter service invite. Said any church caring that much to deliver invites like that is a place they want to check out! Pretty cool.

Special Needs Volunteer Quote

Like every mission trip the Lord has allowed me to participate in to be a blessing to people, including children in foreign lands, I am blessed more than they are through my serving and I feel the same way about being able to love and care for children with Special Needs at Long Hollow.

Mom + Daughter at Momentum

My daughter, Isabella, and I attended Momentum on Sunday night. All I can say is, “Wow!” I still feel like I just got home from the event! We personally have never been a part of a church where the people move themselves out of the way and let God and the Holy Spirit move. Love this place and its people!

LH Men at The Gift

Last Saturday was my third year to serve at The Gift for Single Moms. I was cold & tired. I really didn’t want to come, but I jumped in my truck and headed to Long Hollow. As we vacuumed so many cars that really needed work, I realized the blessing we were giving someone else was worth it. I imaged how good it would feel to have someone clean my car. I love the joy that I got as each car was completed. Some of those students did car after car and never complained. I made a few of them go warm up because they wouldn’t quit. It was just awesome to be able to bless others and to know that God will bless us. I can’t wait ’til next year.

The Unexpected Gift

Last Saturday my first time to volunteer at The Gift for Single Moms. I was outside and it was freezing! Around 11:00 I noticed something: I wasn’t cold anymore. My hands and feet were actually warm! When I realized that I was not so cold anymore, I noticed God had also put a smile on my face. Why am I shocked? Every time I give He gives me so much more in return. Nothing to show on the outside, nothing to take home and show to my family. However, from the inside stories will pour out of this heart for eternity. Thanks, Lord for the Gift I wasn’t expecting to unwrap today!

Amanda’s 2nd Year at The Gift

Last year, I was getting my hair cut and saw a flyer for The Gift and decided to go. I’m so glad that I did. I’ve been coming to Long Hollow ever since! I’m grateful for the hair cut, makeup, and massage, but I was so amazed that there were men cleaning and checking out our cars in the cold weather. Just the magnitude of volunteers blows my mind. I felt so blessed and the women’s panel helped give me hope.
